Ring Size Guide

Method 1: paper or string

Cut a thin strip of paper or a length of string. Wrap it snugly around the base of the finger you want to size — the ring must slide over the knuckle, so if your knuckle is larger, measure there too and choose a size between the two. Mark where the strip overlaps, lay it flat, and measure the length in millimetres. That measurement is your finger circumference; use a size chart to convert it to a UK or US ring size.

Method 2: measure a ring you own

If you already have a ring that fits the right finger, measure the inside diameter across the middle in millimetres and convert that to a size. This is often the most reliable method because the ring is a known good fit.

Tips for an accurate fit

Measure at the end of the day and when you are warm — fingers shrink when cold and swell in heat, and can differ by up to a full size. Take the measurement two or three times to be sure. If you are between sizes, size up; a slightly loose ring is easier to wear and adjust than one that will not pass the knuckle.
